MEDIATION AS A WAY OF THINKING

Bringing light into darkness

I believe that mediation can help people create dialogue where anger, fear or distance have made it difficult to speak. My ambition is to contribute to peace in the world by helping more people learn how to listen, understand and work through disagreement.

This is the vision behind New Partnership. It begins with a person’s willingness to approach a difficult conversation differently and grows through the relationships and communities that person touches.

01

Tools people can carry forward

My purpose is to give people knowledge they can use themselves. I want a learner to leave with questions worth asking, ideas worth practising and a growing ability to make room for another person’s experience.

Sharing an insight with a friend, trying a different conversation at work or encouraging listening within a community can all be meaningful beginnings.

02

A reverse Tower of Babel

The image of a reverse Tower of Babel expresses my hope: people speaking many languages and learning to understand one another. Their identities and differences remain. A shared approach to dialogue helps them meet.

Making the 10-lesson introductory course available in more languages is a practical expression of that hope. Each translation can open a door for another community.

03

A long journey built on practice

Peace is a long-term aspiration. The work asks for patience, humility and a willingness to learn from real encounters. New Partnership grows from mediation practice and from the belief that people can develop their capacity for dialogue.

You are welcome to read, reflect, explore the method and begin learning. What you take from it can become part of your own way of contributing.
